Cindi Eckstein-Pitta, MA, LDTC, NCED, Diagnostic and Remedial Services, is a nationally certified educational diagnostician (NCED #0738). She holds a masters degree in special education and a post-masters certificate in learning disabilities. Her New Jersey certifications include Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (learning specialist and Child Study Team member), Teacher of Students with Disabilities (generic special education) and Elementary Education grades K-6. Cindi also holds certifications in the states of Massachusetts and Florida. Throughout her 20 years of experience, Cindi has taught general and special education in public and private schools. Her favorite students are the ones who are perceived as 'most challenging' and she looks forward to finding innovative ways to unlock potential. While an elementary teacher at heart, Cindi has learned to appreciate the art and science of educating middle school students. Cindi has been on a public school Child Study Team for the past 11 years, but has indulged her love of teaching by tutoring students predominantly in grades 1-7. She is trained in using Orton-Gillingham methodology for reading and spelling instruction but also enjoys math remediation and coaching those with Executive Functioning weaknesses.
